Selway Archery is a small family-run business dedicated to craftsmanship, reliability, and uncompromising quality. Our first of its kind stringer was invented in 1989 by skilled huntsman and inventor Gordy Mickens. Unhappy with the bow stringer options available at the time, Gordy created his own prototype, after years of trial and refinement, became the dependable Selway Archery stringer known today. For over 35 years, he and his wife Roxie built the company with hands-on dedication to every piece produced.

What is a bow stringer?

A bow stringer is a simple tool that makes stringing and unstringing your bow safe and easy. The Selway Archery Bow Stringer solves the real risk in that process: twisted limbs. Tip-to-tip stringers can twist a limb while you string up; our design can't.

What sets it apart: at its heart is a nonslip rubber block, a first-of-its-kind feature that's been the signature of this stringer from its creation. It depresses the limb with precision so nothing twists, while the oversized Cordura limb cup protects the tip from wear. Most stringers give you one or the other; Selway gives you both, so the bow strings straight every time and stays pristine for years. Quick, easy, and safe. Family Background​

Today, Gordy’s grandson, Cameron and his wife Marli carry on that tradition. Cameron has been involved in every step of the business since he was old enough to tie a knot, and together they continue to handcraft every stringer in Montana, ensuring the same level of quality and care that has defined Selway from the beginning.

At Selway Archery, we believe some things are better left unchanged. Our stringers have stood the test of time, trusted by traditional archers for decades.
